“Above-average defense” Lee Jeong-hoo, 14th in FA rankings, ‘3rd outfielder’

Outfielder Lee Jeong-hoo (25), who is about to advance to the major league after dominating the Korean professional baseball KBO league, continues to receive positive reviews.

On the 6th (Korean time), MLB.com, the official Major League Baseball website, announced the selection of the TOP 25 players among players who will become eligible to become free agents after this season.

According to this announcement, Lee Jung-hoo ranked 13th among the top 25 players. He also ranks third among players who can see outfield defense. He ranked first among pure outfielders.

The media estimated that Lee Jung-hoo will head to the major leagues through the posting system and that he can play above-average center field defense.

He also mentioned that he recorded a batting average of .429 in the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) and was named the KBO League's Most Valuable Player (MVP) last year.

The San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, and New York Yankees were mentioned as Lee Jeong-hoo's expected destinations. Currently, San Francisco is mentioned as the most likely.

Meanwhile, in this announcement, 1st and 2nd places were all taken by Japanese players. First place goes to Shohei Ohtani, who booked the best contract of all time.
